A heavy-duty rotary laminator to laminate panels to wall stuctures or frames to make up complete wall sections.
Wall laminator, rotary laminator, large-scale laminator.
The Union Rotary Laminator is used to laminate panels to wall structures to make up complete wall sections. The rolls are 14" in diameter and 152" long. They are mounted in self-aligning bearings and are chain driven. The down pressure is supplied by two 8" diameter air cylinders that provide a total of 10,000 pounds at 100 psi line pressure. The parallel rolls, controlled by a single locking handwheel, are spaced 8.5" apart. This can be changed at any time by means of a quick-change coupling. The machine is equipped with a 5 HP variable speed drive motor with a 3 to 1 ratio. The motor and controls are explosion-proof.
A safety cable mounted around the perimeter of the machine is attached to a forward and reversing explosion-proof switch. When a maximum of 6 ounces of pressure is applied to the cable, the machine is thrown into a reverse direction. This cable is also attached to the control that raises the rolls to the maximum opening, so that when the switch is depressed the rolls are not only thrown into a reverse direction, but also raised to the maximum opening. The machine is constructed of heavy fabricated plate steel to ensure rigidity throughout its lifetime.
This is one of many special rotary laminators built by the Union Tool Corporation.
